Fabric:Cotton Sateen  [See other projects in this fabric]
Pattern Description: Fundamentally feminine and universally flattering with her cinched waist and voluminous pleated straight or dipped hem circle skirt, Flora is the definitive party dress. Choose from two entirely different bodice variations: a classic sleeveless faux-wrap style or the more demure tank bodice, with her high square neckline and simple shoulder straps.

Pattern Sizing: US 2-16

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? absolutely.

Were the instructions easy to follow? I made this as a pattern tester and had no instructions - it was very easy to put together. If you have sewn a dress before this is very easy.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love that there is two bodice and skirt variations. A modest or party version. It's very feminine and can be very soft and girly or very modern with a striking fabric. Fabric choice will also have a major impact on the outcome of the project. Soft and swirly with a lawn or voile - or swingy and dramatic with something with more body.

Fabric Used: Cotton Sateen

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I made the first version (blue/white) as it was design. The second version (black/blue) I made a few changes: 1) added a skirt lining, 2) added elastic to the neckline edge to prevent gaping and 3) moved the zip to the underarm as my fabric was so dramatic and the print so large I could not bear to cut it apart with a centre back seam.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes. A lovely feminine make - perfect for those of you heading into spring!

Conclusion: Really love this design - another fabulous well-drafted pattern from the By Hand London Girls.

Love both dresses! So feminine and flowing, especially breathtaking at the beach. Wish I were there.
