Pattern Description: Misses' top, skirt, pants and jacket. New Look sewing pattern. My daughter made view C, the top. I would add that it is a sleeveless shell finished with self-fabric binding at the neck and armholes. Also there are pleats at the neckline.

Pattern Sizing:A(4-16). My daughter made a straight size 10.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?yes

Were the instructions easy to follow?yes

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?First of all, you get a lot in this pattern: jacket, skirt, top and pants, all of which look cute. In talking about just the top, I like the pleats at the neckline, the slits at the side seams. It's a basic top, but very useful.

Fabric Used:woven cotton, with the drape of something like broadcloth

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:none. However, the armholes were snug and next time I would deepen them half an inch or so. Note that that will also change the length of the binding you will need.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?yes. Basic shells are necessary for just about any wardrobe. We would also like to try the other parts of the pattern -- jacket, skirt and pants.

Conclusion: A great basic to have, either worn on its own or layered under a jacket or cardigan. You can check my blog for more info and photos.

Very nice, cool top! I agree about that pattern. I made the top and pants awhile back and ended up cutting the pattern pieces for the entire thing, grouping them together by item. It's a great wardrobe pattern! Also, thanks for the blog link! :)
