Pattern Description:
Semi-fitted pants with hip yoke, side seam pockets and wide legs.

Pattern Sizing:
6-20. I made my usual size 14 at waist tapering to 16 at hips and thighs.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes, except on my short legs the proportions were not as pleasing so I narrowed the pants legs, see below.

More photos and details are here at my blog.

Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes, Vogue Patterns instructions are usually fine.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I liked the yoke, it helps me enormously with fit since I already have to taper to a larger size at the hips.

Fabric Used:
A lovely 100% wool herringbone. It is a bit loosely woven so it raveled easily, but this pattern has few pieces so it was a good match.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
When I made the muslin I found that the legs were too wide for my taste. I am not particularly short (I am 5'6" or 1.67m), but I still felt that the proportions were not right with the legs as wide as they were. So I tried on my two favorite trousers for comparison and realized that they were both 8cm narrower at the hem in each leg, that is a lot less fabric! So I tapered each seam on each pattern piece by 2.0cm at the hem, tapering to nothing at the hip.

I also added a lining. My fabric was a bit loosely woven because of the herringbone pattern. The lining will protect against stretching at the knees and bum and should help the fabric last longer.

I also shortened the legs by 3.0cm.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I'm not sure that I would sew it again. I don't wear pants often and I want to try a few other patterns, so probably won't come back to this one. I do recommend it to others, I think it is a very flattering style even for someone with heavy hips and thighs like me.

Conclusion:
Lovely pants pattern, I happily recommend it.
