I did view D and used contrast fabric. Yes it is a great, I had to extend the width but that was for the intended use only.

The instructions. Terrible. Sewing instructions are OK but the cutting out........certainly not for the beginner unless they have help. They are basically a muddle. It is recommended that there is batting AND sew in interfacing required, which I could have easily been left out, if I make this bag again, which I am likely to do, I think sew in interfacing is sufficient.

TIP. I found it impossible to join the lining as suggested due to the bulk of the batting and the interfacing on the front. Instead I put the lining inside the bag as required without joining it and folded over the lining at the top, then attached the raw edge of the front making sure the lining was slightly proud. Then attached a piece of ribbon to the folded edge of the lining and then onto the bag. Much much easier than trying to tame the bulk if it had been joined as per instructed.

I didn't quilt my fabric but just sewed a coupled of lines through the layers of the front and back before construction from top to bottom in equal amounts.
