Pattern Description:
This pattern is for woven fabrics, and includes instructions for pyjama pants or shorts with no fly and a simple top with no fastenings.
Pattern Sizing:
A great pattern that has multiple sizes. I used the medium, as I am making these for a friend.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
All the instructions were clear, although I would have liked a large diagram for the extra stitching in the crotch area, as it was a bit small. But this may just be my own eyesight.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I really liked the simplicity of the pattern. No unnecessary fly or waist thread. Just elasticated waist and turn down casing. The hem for the pants can have elastic in them too if you prefer that.
I LOVE that these have pockets on both sides - such a useful feature in pyjama pants these days, with the need of some to have their mobile phone with them at all times!
Fabric Used:
I used a gently brushed cotton. But this is the best part about my pyjama pants, I used Star Wars Glow-In-the-Dark fabric! All the crossed light sabers on this fabric actually glow in the dark!
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I shortened the length of these pyjama pants by 8cm as the man they are for is only 5'8" and the pants were about 110cm finished length.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I very carefully cut out this pattern so that I could utilise the other sizes again in the future. I do hope to make another pair for myself sometime soon, as these are for a friend.
If you can get this pattern in the sale, then I would definitely recommend it, as it is a very good staple pattern to have in your collection. There are no bells or whistles to this pattern, it is a simple and sensible pattern that won't date. I have written about these pants on my blog here at Nessa's Place
