Pattern Description:
A flattering and curvy dress. Includes a bodice fitted with darts, along with a contrasting top yoke, sleeves, and narrow midriff band. Short sleeves are gently scalloped along the sleeve hem, echoing the shape of the bodice. Skirt has large pleats, with pockets hidden in the front pleats. Closes with an invisible side zipper.

Pattern Sizing:
Size 0-18, more true to size like RTW.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?

Were the instructions easy to follow?
Definitely. The directions were very detailed.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I really liked the yoke on this dress. I wanted to create a strapless dress look, with a sheer fabric as the yoke for something a little different.

Fabric Used:
I used a stretch cotton pique from Fabric Mart. For the yoke, I used a cotton lace from Ultra Fabrics in Miami, FL. I was on the hunt for the perfect lace. I wanted something sturdy, but still cute. This lace looks delicate, but it has a sturdiness to it that helps stabilize the dress.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I had a hard time getting the correct bust size. I cut out a muslin using the my regular bust measurements. It was a little too large in the shoulders and high bust area. So I measured my high bust measurement and that worked. I should have done a Full Bust Adjustment, but honestly, didn't feel like it!

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I would love to sew it again! It was a fun pattern and the possibilities in fabric combinations are endless!

I love this dress! I love the fabric combination and it looks like a RTW dress! You can read more about it on my Blog

I think this is my favorite version of the Macaron so far. Good choice of lace, too!
