Pattern Description:

Semi fitted, tapered pants with contour waist and back zipper

Pattern Sizing:

8-16 - I made a 12 tapering to a 10 at the waist

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?

Mine were more fitted

Were the instructions easy to follow?

Yes, very clear instructions

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?

Good pants after adjustments.

Fabric Used:

Cotton twill (an old pair of curtains believe it or not!)

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:

This is the third time I've made these pants but I modified them significantly to make a much slimmer leg. I also found that the crotch was much to low on the original pattern and raised it by about 2 inches. The whole thing was a pain initially but now I have a pattern that's adjusted and can be put together in a couple of hours.

Instead of using a facing, I used wide bias binding for the waistband. It was quick, and it's a very pretty floral bias binding. The little stitches hardly show. I also added ribbon and ric rac to the bottom of the legs for some interest.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?

If you want a fitted pair of pants you will need to adjust this pattern significantly but it's worth the effort.

Conclusion:

I've also made the dress and top from this pattern - both of which are firm favourites. This is a good pattern to have in your collection.
