Pattern Description:
Pretty dress with sleeves, not too tight fitting nor loose. Perfect for daytime with low converse shoes, or night out with voile or lace fabric instead of contrasty top part. Oh, and Pockets too!! (Don't we all love pockets?!)
Pattern Sizing:
Good sizing and quite accurate to measures.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes, but a bit tricky sometimes (sleeves and pockets)
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
The Pockets!!!!! But the sleeves have a really lovely shape!
I found the Facings a bit too visible (probably because of the fabric I used...) and wished they was instruction on how to add a lining.
Fabric Used:
Cotton, Poly mix
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
On the Lilac dress, I added a lining because the fabric was see-through. I also had trouble inserting the midriff into the skirt and had to ease it into place.
I followed Lauren's idea from Guthrie-Ghanie and put beautiful Liberty pipings in the top part! <3
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes ...already doing my third one, and counting!
Conclusion:
I started doing them as part of a uniform for a friend ("Mademoiselle Macaron") who is opening a French Macaron shop in Edinburgh, Scotland, but I will definitely making more for me and with variations on the contrast pieces!
