Pattern Description:
Pleated, button up dress with inseam pockets and gathered half circle skirt

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?

Were the instructions easy to follow?
Um...they were okay. I had to re-read and decipher a few parts, but I'm not an advanced sewist and very inexperienced with women's wear.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I don't like the bunchiness in back; and the shoulders sit very wide.

Art Gallery voile

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
Narrow shoulder adjustment, & I sewed the pleats all the way up the back to eliminate the bagginess in back. (Issues I found in my muslin)

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
No, I won't sew it again. I made it twice, and while I like it...I think I'm done. I was bummed that my shoulder adjustment didn't work out.

I'd love suggestions- I ended up chopping it into a skirt because of a weird fit issue. I believe I know what caused it, but I'm not sure how to fix it. Help would be awesome! You can read about this project at SewsNBows.

Love the fabric! I like the look of the collar too. Sorry it didn't work out quite as you had hoped, it looks great in the pics.

The dress is cute, the skirt is cute too. And yes someone can need both a narrow and square shoulder adjustment-- I have to do both on nearly every garment (except raglan sleeves without darts). I am not familiar with the Colette narrow shoulder adjustment, but I use the one from the book Fast Fit which keeps the original shape of the armscye so no sleeve adjustments are necessary. I have tried other adjustments but that one works best for me. You may find you have to experiment a little before you figure out the adjustments that work best.
