|Pattern Description: |
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? yes
Were the instructions easy to follow?yes but I needed to review the Craftsy class sometimes.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?I like how it all went together so nicely.
Fabric Used:It was a cotton home decor fabric but had the look and feel of denim. I was concerned about the thickness but had no problems.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:Shortened the sleeves 2 inches
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?I would sew it again if I needed another jacket.
Conclusion: I enjoyed the class Sew Better Sew Faster ...I have never made a coat or jacket before or sewn welt pockets or sewn without using pins. I didn't have topstitching thread...I used "Heavy" thread on top and regular in the bobbin. Used a #18 needle. I didn't even use one spool of the "Heavy" topstitching thread. I used a scrap piece of 1x2 pine wood for the clapper and finger pressed the small curved seams. Used a hammer to flatten the bulky seams.
