Sometimes even when using a magnifier, I have trouble seeing the stitches I need to remove. By accident, when trying to adjust the magnifier and light, I found that it's easier to see stitches when the light is not aimed straight down on the stitching, but have it angled across, so that the light and shadows are more pronounced.

I'll try it! Having a heck of time seeing black thread in a black knit top! Too bad I just learned to sew with dark blue thread (unless it is a prominent seam) on black fabric!

Thanks I have been having a heck of a time seeing while seam ripping AND while sewing. I bought and used lights but it just made it worse. Now I know why. I have remounted and angled my lights and turned off the room overhead ceiling lights. Now I can see better!!!! Take Care. Hatbuddy
