After several times of putting the bottonhole on the wrong side and having a garment that felt awkward to get into, I came up with a phrase to help me remember without having to pull something out of the closet to compare. Forr women: The Right Reaches and the Left Links. The right side bottonhole reaches over to link the left botton.

For men, it is bit more colorful. "Learing Lefty captured the Bottoneyed Beauty."

	JasminC said... well, the button placement was based on the idea most are right handed: women's buttons were placed for her maid's convenience, but men didn't usually have a maid dressing them, so the buttons were placed for their own convenience... gods only know why they kept it that way, most owmen dress themselves these days shrugs not that i'm complaining: I'm left handed. 8/12/10 6:10 AM
