This class was a whirlwind overview of the two Tool Box books. Sandra's samples were lost in shipping h**l, so she did everything from scratch, which was actually probably even more interesting. We got to see her in sewing action rather than just look at step-by-step samples. It was fun to see some of these things done. Unfortunately, the lost samples also meant that the various sizes of various patterns made up for us to try on were also lost, so Sandra just pulled out her own clothes hung them up and used them to show us where she used the various techniques. She encouraged us to handle the clothes and try them on if we liked.
This was a 3 hours class at $30. Well worth it! |
I took a class similiar to this shortly after 9/11 - it was the scariest trip that I made to class since I had to drive through a lengthy tunnel to get to the class. Similarly Sandra had to arrive at the class venue with her samples in total disaray because of the heightened baggage search. This class was based on her new pattern line. Likewise, she was exceptionally generous in her offering and she couldn't have been more helpful in analyzing each and every participant in the garments they chose to try on.

Not only a good class to take - thanks!- but also another reference to a teacher who can be trusted to put on a great class...regardless...isn't that how we should live? Kudos to Sandra, again, and to you, elsew, for continuing through after 9/11.

I would love to take a class with Sandra someday. A great teacher is one who can pull it off even when things go awry. This shows that she really knows her stuff. Thank you.
