I am performing onstage in an early 1900s (My Fair Lady-esque) outfit, and it's supposed to have a mermaid-type tail. For the life of me, I couldn't figure out how to get that much bulk using only tulle. It collapses and squishes so flat that even at $1.09 per yard, I was struggling with purchasing enough! Luckily, I had two knee-length old square dance can-cans. They're the perfect length from knee to foot, and the perfect fullness!
