|My sewing room has old ugly thick carpeting. Someday when I have time AND money, it will be replaced. In the meantime, I make due and am grateful I have a sewing room. However, the thick carpeting made it very difficult to use the thread cutting feature on the foot pedal of my Juki F600. I also found that when I was putting "the pedal to the metal" my leg would get tired. I thought of putting a piece of plywood under the foot pedal, but I didn't have any. But I did have a thin hard cover children's book. I put some tlatex waffle shelf liner underneath and on top of the book. My pedal stays put, I have to use much less effort to kick my machine into high gear, and I have come to love my foot pedal thread cutter.
