Unless you have carpeting, you probably also have found that your pedal gets away from you while you're sewing. I recently bought some shelf liner for my pantry. It's a rubbery, waffly textured product that you can cut to size. A light came on! I cut a piece a few inches bigger than my pedal, slipped it under and, now it's not going anywhere! It's always right where I need it.

I have the same problem on my hardwood floor. My perfect solution was a sticky mat that was designed to keep a cell phone or portable GPS from sliding around in the car. The mat is a perfect size for the foot controller, provides temporary but secure adherence and leaves no residue. When it gets dusty or 'thready' just wash with soap and water and when dried, it's sticky as new. I found mine on ebay ebay with a winning bid of $2 each. Great gifts for sewing friends.

Good idea. I use this product underneath my serger and coverstitch machines to keep them from "walking" all over the table.
