I am in the process of making draperies for a very large window. I am trying to handle 5 1/2 yards for this one panel and it is quite cumbersome. This window is 90 inches wide and I wanted the draperies to be around 95 inches long so that window requires almost 11 yards of lining fabric as well as 11 yards of the main fabric . I found that by putting my ironing board lengthwise next to my sewing machine (or my serger) I had a good place to put all that fabric while I was sewing on it. This really worked out for me.

I supplied a picture so that you could interpret what I mean. Hope this helps someone else with this problem.
