I had an idea that if the seams were thinner, it would be easier to do double needle top-stitching on leotards. I theorized that my problem areas were over the seams. There were eight layers of fabric there plus elastic. I got the idea if I made a 1/4" seam on my regular machine and pressed it open, there were be less bulk. It worked well! On short spans like shoulder seams, I made the whole seam on straight-stitch machine. Where there would be a longer seam (in picture, it's where the green band joins the black), I just started with about 1" on regular machine, then snipped at the end of the stitching so I could continue the seam on the serger. I'm amazed I never thought of this technique sooner.
