| I'm putting the final touches on my couture dress and I must say, I'm so pleased with the result. The class was so complete and well explained that I only made one mistake that I had to rip out and it was totally my fault. I was clipping the armhole seam allowance on my lining, a silk dupioni, and since I was going too fast....CLIP...you guessed it, I clipped right through the bodice of the lining. Since it was in so many pieces, I just ripped out that piece, cut out a new one, sewed it in and voila! Hole Be Gone. Susan Khalje is a great teacher, explains everything thoroughly and has a nice, quiet manner and voice. I learned several new techniques and applied my first hand picked zipper. I'll get pictures later when I do a review of the pattern. I have to finish my "jump pleat" hem, something else I just learned. Highly recommend this class! |
Thanks for reviewing this, I just bought this class last week during their sale. Hope to see more of her classes here on PR (like the Couture Hand Stitching) again as well.

I went to one of Peggy's workshops in Dallas a few years ago. We had to make 12 muslins. We managed to get all 12 fitted. We did not sew any of the alterations just had them pinned in. I wish I could take it again.

AdaH, I'm in the Dallas area and that class sounds well worth whatever it cost. I have so much trouble with fitting. Where in Dallas was it?

I got this class for Christmas and I've not quite finished watching it all. I will then start my couture dress. Her manner of teaching, pleasant voice, love for the art, well, just everything is excellent. I got the class for half off (or less, I don't remember) and it's worth three times the regular rate, IMHO. Incredible amount of information in this class. I'm wishing I could take an in person class with her now. Craftsy platform is excellent, as well.
