Location: Great, centralized location for southern New England. Very easy to get to, easy to park, close by hotel for overnight stays.
Timing: Poorly timed to coincide with the MQX Quilt Festival in Manchester, NH AND the last week prior to the (US individual) tax filing deadline.
Curriculum: Roughly evenly divided between garment sewing-techniques and fit; quilting (including long-arm quilting); machine embroidery; and projects the point of which utterly escape me (ruffled scarf and serger-embellished sweatshirt, for examples).
Exhibit hall: It really seemed to me that there were fewer total vendors than the last time I attended, which was 2012, I believe, but only for the pre-expo full day seminar, so didn't get to look at the exhibit hall. Here is where the emphasis on the quilting public really makes itself obvious. There was very little on exhibit for the garment sewer, Wool House and Vogue Fabrics notwithstanding. The major sewing machine manufacturers were represented. The quilting-focused vendors were everywhere and nearly indistinguishable from each other.
Purchases: I did purchase some fabric at Wool House and Vogue Fabrics, also some cool glass buttons.
Will I go in 2015? I don't know. I had to scramble to set aside one day for this, due to the timing, so only took one morning class and spent the afternoon as an Ambassador, leaving me about an hour in the exhibit hall. I'd really like to see a 2- or 3-day intensive fitting or hands-on advanced garment sewing techniques course. It would be far more valuable than a bunch of hour or 90-minute long lecture-style sessions.

Excellent review of EXPO; I feel this venue has been going steadily downhill since I first experienced it 8 or 9 years ago.
