Cool tip Maria. I was playing with fire today too, lol, used my lighter to melt the end of clear poly thread after I'd tied it in a knot, so it couldn't slip out (hanging ornaments). |

Chainsaw,
I'm sure it would, but the melted straw sits almost flush with the bottom of the bobbin. That way the thread doesnt catch on the straw or your stick or whatever it is your using. |

I like your inventiveness, Maria! You can also use an inexpensive pen-nib holder (used for drawing in ink with a steel nib). It has a graduated cylindrical shape that keeps the bobbin stable and an easy-to-use length. They're available at art-supply stores. |
