How is the web site look & feel / user friendliness? Is it easy to surf?
Basic Etsy storefront. Standard catalog format, easy to search and navigate.
Is this a commercial web site? If yes how are the prices? Do they have a secure shopping cart?
I ordered several yards of Ponte di Roma and found the prices almost half the cost of most other websites. ($5.70/yard vs. $11 - $12/yard) It is worth noting that the fabric content was also quite different than most of the Ponte I've seen online. ( 84% Polyester, 14% Rayon, 3% Spandex)
It's also worth noting that Stylish Fabrics has two different storefronts, the Etsy store and their own web portal. I ordered from the Etsy store because their other website did not offer https: secure checkout. (They did offer the option to use PayPal which would have been secure, but my credit card is already registered to my husband's PP account and it's a hassle to order through them.)
There was a slight difference in pricing for the same items between both sites, .20 - .30 a yard, but it was more of a curiosity than a deal killer.
How is the customer service?
My order arrived promptly and intact so I did not need to contact customer service.
Have you bought anything from this web site?
I purchased 7 yards of Ponte di Roma and 1 yard of rayon. The Ponte was described as a heavyweight fabric, but was quite a bit lighter than what I would consider "heavyweight." The cuts for both pieces were generous, almost 8 yards for the Ponte and 1 1/4 for the rayon, and the Ponte's lovely drape more than made up for the lighter weight.
If yes, was the item delivered on time?
I ordered first thing on Monday morning and the fabric did not ship until Thursday evening. They did say that it could take three business days to process so I was aware that my order would not ship right away. The total time from order to receipt was ten days.
Would you recommend this site to others?
I would recommend Stylish Fabrics' Etsy shop and do plan on ordering from them again. The fabric I received wasn't the fantasy, high end fabric that we all wish we could afford to sew with, but it was a quality budget friendly option.
I would say to pay particular attention to the fabric content as many of their fabrics look alike on the computer and have similar descriptions but have very different content. I would also suggest that if someone does order they spend the extra dollar to get one of the sample cards. I did not see the cards until after I placed my order, but considering how differently they define "heavyweight" it would have been useful as a gauge for my next order.
