A while back I bought a batch of used saris. I asked for all chiffon. I've used a bunch, but now am ready to use up the rest. I have lots of scraps, and no idea what to do. Any ideas for smallish, easy to make projects. I sell things at the holidays, and could use some ideas. All you creatives out there... Thanks!

How small are the scraps?

I'm thinking you could do some creative piecing, and make scarves or shawl vests. It depends on what price point your market is. An oval or rectangular shawl vest in silk chiffon could sell for quite a nice price I would think.

Are these saris silk?

Drawstring pouches , purses, silk flower pins, pillows- depending on the fabric and project, with or without lining.

I love silk chiffon scarves! They provide just enough warmth without getting too warm for three of the four seasons here and also add a nice touch to my otherwise casual wardrobe. I have made many for gifts which have been very well received. I also get compliments while wearing them; many people don't realize the lovely appearance real silk offers versus synthetic chiffon, even for a simple scarf.
I also like the idea of using floaty or plain short chiffon sleeves on a summer knit or woven top; it's like wearing a tank with a little arm coverage. The chiffon can also be layered with a coordinating base fabric as an accent on yokes, placket, cuffs etc. A false underlayer (or two) of chiffon looks pretty at the hem of a tunic length tee. Also makes a pretty added ruffle to a bodice or sleeves (but might be a pain to iron).
