This is annoying.
I only use Vogue patterns, I don't know about other patterns. I need to make the bodice longer/ skirt longer/ trousers longer. Also, I found out I have narrow square shoulders, unlike miss Vogue.
Vogue patterns give a horizontal line for shorter/ longer adjustments on the bodice and trousers, but they never give these lines in facings etc, or even a warning which parts you should change when you start changing your pattern.
Why not? It's not expensive is it?

I suppose they figure you will transfer adjustments to all pieces

You're right, they're basically for guidance. Fitting books say to make all adjustments on the main pattern, leaving aside the facings, because the latter can be adjusted only after the shell is in final form. More advanced patterns don't even include facings; the sewer drafts them from fitted pattern.

Even more advanced sewers enjoy guide lines.

The "lengthen/shorten" line isn't usually in the right place for me, anyway. iSo I always have to just be careful to adjust everything that needs it.
