My step-son requested a cookbook which centers on a high-protein, low-to-medium carbs diet. I didn't think it would be that difficult to find. It is not for weigh loss, just for better eating. Anyone have any suggestions?

My first thought is something paleo or primal based, but then he can make sides that are a bit more carby. Like simply changing up the veggies, or adding beans, or medium glycemic veggies like beets, winter squash, etc. Ok, now I'm hungry again.....

Little strokes fell great oaks. On the other hand, go big or go home!

Projects completed in 2024: 3 pairs gloves. Four pairs of jeans. Five custom tarps. A dozen linen hankies. A wool wrap for a friend. Four linen bath towels and 24 washcloths. Two bed pillows.
38.5 yards of fabric out.

This is what I was going to suggest. She does a lot in the Instant Pot.

I can think of two cookbooks that your step-son might like:
• 365 Ways to Wok by Linda Drachman
• In the Kitchen with Rosie: Oprah's Favorite Recipes by Rosie Daley

I’ve seen a few of her Facebook live recipe where she uses the instant pot, her book is more every kind of cooking,
I think...at least the first one which I’ve borrowed from the library.

A change of Appetite by Diana Henry and A Good Food Day by Marco Canora are not diet books but are lower carb. They are geared toward people who really like to cook, I think, so may not be the best cookbooks for everyone.
The Fat Chance cookbook has an unfortunate title but the recipes are lower carb and not too complex and there is a lot of good info about sugar and health in the book as well.

The complete low carb cookbook by George Stella also has an uninspired title but the recipes are not too complex and are protein based.

What about a sheet pan cookbook? The recipes are generally a protein + vegetables. I usually just eliminate potatoes or only use a few if a sheet pan recipe calls for them.
