I bought a beach bag with a cooler in the bottom (here- this store takes effing for-ev-er to ship, but they are significantly cheaper than anyone else on AliExpress or Ebay for most stuff- I'm still not sure it's worth it), and I hate the stupid print on the pocket. So I bought an iron on patch to cover it.

I don't think it's going to stay stuck to the nylon. It is on the outside of a narrow pocket, so I can't sew around it without taking the straps/pocket off, and I really don't care enough to do that or hand sew it on.

So any glue suggestions?

Is the pocket even going to be useful at all? If not, sacrifice it by sewing it shut with the new patch.

You could unpick the thread and take the whole pocket off, and get rid of the words that way, it probably can't leave holes in the fabric, because the fabric is mesh to begin with. Just know that if you use rubber cement to glue something onto some fabric and then you ever decide you want to sew over it later, without somehow removing the rubber cement first, that's a bad thing and does not work good.

Thanks, kayl! I have no immediate need for these, but I'm sure I will before too long.

K tape was the old standby to have in your pack for equipment emergencies; Tenacious tape is one I have not used myself, but several experienced outdoorsy friends have used and liked it a lot. I would expect either to hang on for years.

Thanks for the advice! I bought a two pack of fun patches, and I tried ironing the second one on to cotton. Turns out I just didn't have the iron hot enough, I think it's on good now.
