Hi all, as the title says...how in the world do I adjust the width on the Juki 654de serger? There is no stitch width adjustment dial.
I am trying to flatlock some and I keep reading to increase the stitch width
Thank you!

Emily, you change the width by changing the cutting width. It is not much I know. Page 8 shows how to change the knife width.
Page 10 talks about how to change the width for rolled hem and normal serging. You do not have many options and I don't think many width options. HTH

Hey Marie, I was hoping you'd chime inI figured it had to do with the knife but how knife width correlates to stitch width I have yet to figure out. So I wonder if the stitch width should be at "3", should I change the cutting width to "3"? I'm trying to visualize it. My flatlocking attempts have been laughable thus far.

Thanks!

I am not sure. I would try several variations. Are you using the left needle? That will give you a wider stitch too than using both or only the right needle (which is what you do on the rolled hem stitch).

Yes, left needle. My lower looper thread keeps breaking on me, too. So, there is that problem. I might have no choice but to take it in. I tried using the 2 thread flatlock with the spreader and the lower looper continued to break every.time.
