Sewing for a friend--always a mistake and I am working on saying "no". Her bust is 45 inches high bust 42 and waist 33. She is 5'10' and likes her clothes very fitted. I should have taken a selfie of me seeing how her voile top fell with me trying it on at midnight with 4+ athletic socks stuffed into my bra. I had never done a full bust adjustment before. Happy days.

Call or visit your friend, and very sweetly say "no."

Sara Veblen has a great class here PR on FBAs. It's very thorough & got me through quite a few adjustments for my DD with DD+ top & 28" waist.

In the future, just explain to people that sewing is your hobby & joy & NOT a professional endeavor. That's what I do. And if I'm cajoled into some sewing task, I make sure that the person know that there's no time constraint & I'll get to it when I can. That usually sends them in another direction.

I highly recommend trying out Cashmerette patterns. She fits into the size category. You may need to add a little length but it’s a much easier adjustment than the FBA!

Will it be easier if you borrow a bra from her to put on the dress form for fitting?

Thank you everyone. I usually quilt (a lot) and make household stuff (light upholstery , drapery etc) and sew garments for myself. I am not a selfish person but things have been getting out of control here for a while, and think I will have the courage to say "no".
