http://www.bydonovan.com/soap2.html

the above link will take you to a recipe for Soap Balls. Sounds like a nice idea for easy gifts for Xmas.
Can anybody describe Ivory Snow detergent to me ??? Haven't got that brand here in OZ, but we must have an equivalent.
I'm thinking it could be like our Lux flakes Laundry detergent.
These are little soap flakes that kinda melt in hot water; used on delicate items like baby clothes.

Anyone help out here ????
Many thanks

The important thing to know is that Ivory Snow (and maybe Lux) is laundry soap--sort of like pure bar soap (no scent, softeners, antibacterial chemicals, etc.) in flaky form. That's why it can be made into soap balls. I have a friend who is allergic to detergent (and all kinds of cleaners and additives), but she's able to wash her clothes in Ivory Snow.

Aaaaaahhh, yes our Lux sounds like the right stuff. Now that you mention it, it is just soap flakes - had forgotten that.
Thanks ladies for your replies.
