Hello
I have perfected installing exposed zips without a seam but just cannot get my head around how to do this when I have a seam. I am stuck. Can anyone help please. I am exposing the zip teeth only.
Edited to add:
This is the link I used before. I must have made the line of basting stitches 2 cms from back edge then but the instructions seem to be talking about the top of the zip or have I misread it.
exposed zip with seam

Another link uses 2 tiny squares of lining at the bottom of the zip. Is it possible to add that with this link?

I sewed exposed zips in the sleeve seams of my moto jacket and included all the photos in This Flickr Album starting about the middle of the first page. The instructions are under each photo. Below are a few of the photos. Hope it helps!

Next I drew a line from the corner of my markings downward to the fabric's raw edge. I cut on that line to but not through the corner. Faux leather does not ravel, so I skipped reinforcing the lines with stitching.

Press your seam allowances in place and now the sleeve is ready to insert the zip. I topstitched my zippers in and did not use any pins or clips as you will see in the next pic.

I think my only point of this pic is to show what the inside should look like after the sleeve zipper is sewn in. But yeah, I was happy ithe zipper pull hit right at the bottom of the hem. Yay!

Here is the first exposed zipper and it ends right where I wanted it. Repeat for the second sleeve and then coverstitch (or topstitch if you are doing that) the seams.

Thank you to Sews for Cats and Sew Libra

I put in an exposed zip using your video and pictures and I am very pleased with the results.

Only problem is I should have done the all in one facing first!
Maybe the burrito method will save the day.

I'm sure you'll figure it out. I bagged a lining on my jacket and ended up hand stitching around the sleeve zippers. About killed me because I don't like to hand sew and only do it when I have to or to make a hem on special fabric look nice. Lol.

Close up of sleeve showing the ease pleat. I have to say i'm kinda proud of the sleeves. :)
