Print? (Moderated by Deepika, Sharon1952)

I've decided to do my art jacket in denim which I'll be ordering from Fabric.com. I also need to line in something lightweight. I could just do a plain lining, but was wondering if there are any suitable print fabric that aren't too expensive, that I could use. Any suggestions?
TIA

Do you want something slick, like a poly-cotton print or poly or nylon crepe or pongee type stuff? Or maybe something like cotton lawn? Something sort of halfway between, like a light Tencel?

Because I hate to caught up in the process of putting on and taking off--I would choose something in between!

Gee wiz....I really don't know.
Usually I just use a typical plain lining...poly due to cost and hasn't caused any issues when I've used it. Can I use a woven as you suggested? I'm thinking not in the sleeves. Since this jacket may be heavy when working my mixed media, (not sure how much at this point) I need something lightweight. Would Faille work in the body?

Ah. Well, there are plenty of poly woven prints around, and personally, I'd never stick a knit in a woven jacket, but YMMV. Faille has two qualities that give me pause... it's kinda toothy, so higher friction, and some of the slicker failles are prone to seam slippage, which isn't what I want for a durable lining. Cotton or poly-cotton poplin would marry well with denim, particularly the shirt weight poplins, but I've not seen much in the way of prints on light poplins recently, not that I've been haunting the fabric stores. But it looks like there's a fair number of cotton poplin prints at fabric.com.
Poplin, like faille, has a heavier fill yarn than warp, so it has a bit of toothy character to it, but far less pronounced than faille. The standard smooth men's shirtings are usually a poplin. Crisp hand, holds shape pretty well.

Oooh, pretty! What about doing poly sleeves and Liberty Tana lawn for the rest? You wouldn't need much at all, what with the facings and such.

Ok....that gives me great choices...thank you!
and bumping blueviola's question....poly in the sleeves? I can't imagine cotton in the sleeves.
Thanks for the nod on the pattern blue
It's going to take me awhile to put it altogether....but I am excited to try some new things!

That tana lawn is smooooooooth…..
I can't imagine anyone noticing that the sleeve lining doesn't match, especially if you coordinate it a bit with the print.

I was having a hard time deciding...but I wear denim all the time and thought I would definitely wear it if it were denim.....I'm using a NL shawl collar, tight fit jacket and will draft the longer back...going for this:
