From JoAnn's. Has anyone tried this? With over 15,000 designs to choose from and the ability to scale those designs up and down and change the way they are repeated, it's very tempting. Fabric content and information is available by clicking on the "About Fabrics" link next to the dropdown selection menu. How many times have you seen a print you like on a base fabric you'd never wear and wished you could magically transport that print to the fabric of your choice for the garment you envision? Done. By JoAnn's. Interesting.

Interesting! Thanks for posting. Fun to consider the possibilities. I wonder what faux wool is though...

Just to look a gift horse in the mouth... It looks like we don't get complete control over scale and color. But there are a lot of possibilities with color blocking using the same design in different colors! (Or maybe as an indoor camouflage, one might make a dress with the same pattern as the sofa using the appropriate fabrics for each. Kid: "Mom! Mom! Oh well can't find her I guess I'd better do this easy but annoying task myself.")

I just updated my original post. There is some more information about fabric content, although not complete information about all the fabrics, particularly the content on the knits. There's a link next to the drop down fabric selection window that says "ABOUT FABRICS" Here's what they have to say about their "Faux Wool": 100% polyester low pile fabric with soft hand and knitted backing. Hmmm...

LOL. The camouflage possibilities are indeed endless.

Interesting! although I feel like part of the fun of custom fabric, spoonflower, etc, is that it's a more uncommon print. But they have a very wide range of fabric substrates available. Glad you shared this!
There is a not very obvious About Fabrics link, that says:
Faux Wool 54" wide $24.99
100% polyester low pile fabric with soft hand and knitted backing.
S - Vacuum; Spot clean with water free agent, professional cleaning recommended

I guess that is most helpful if you know what actual wool feels like. Reminds me of the descriptor “silkies”

Hmm, same price range as good wool, without the benefits. It does get around the bland pickings in real, honest-to-goodness wool though. Reminder to self: snatch up every piece of colorful wool I come across in my price range. Then, figure out what to make with it...

I've only done a preliminary look at the possibilities but I can't seem to find any way to customize the scale. I see the choice to select yardage or a swatch. What am I missing? The lack of information on fabric content and fabric weight is unforgivable for a large company like JoAnn. If anybody here learns more about the details of this I am interested.
Earlier today I was exploring Spoonflower and, being new to that site also, I was a bit confused about finding out just how it works and how to find out exactly what the choices are, how much customization is possible etc. Hopefully folks who have gotten what they wanted (or not) from these sites can chime in and help us newbies.
