I am still working on my Vampire's Wife knockoff dress muslin and I noticed that the point of the bust dart sits too high above the bust apex. It is far enough away horizontally but just too high vertically. Is fixing this just a matter of moving the dart down the side seam the correct amount? Thanks.

ETA: I was looking at the inspiration dress. I have posted this dress in different fabrics, but this one stood out to me. If you look at the front view on the model, there is some pulling at the side seams, so the fit is off. If you hover over the picture it will zoom in. It makes me wonder why I am stressing out so much about it, but I guess this is why we sew--so that we can get a better fit than we can buy.

Yup, or you could try just re-aiming the dart... draw a new dart apex 1/2" lower, erase the old dart legs and redo the new dart legs from the original side seam location to the new dart apex.

Looking at those photos, there is a very good chance that there are clamps on the side of the dress away from the camera, "fitting" the dress to the model. All too common, alas.

Thank you. I will just reaim it. I had forgotten about using clamps to "fit" for pictures.

On Inspiration dress there are French darts - you can see a dart very well on a side view picture . The dress is RTW, not custom made to model’s measurements. Dart ends are too high on a model , so it does not fit very well, some visible folds, pulling because of that.

Thank you. I did not realize they were French darts.
