What's the best way to size down a pattern? I can trace it onto paper and then use a ruler to reduce from the edges, but any idea how much? It's a Simplicity pattern for leggings. Are they consistent in their pattern sizing? Thanks

Since you are going down 2 sizes you could try using the difference between the 1x and the 3x as your guide on how much to reduce. It will be different amounts in different parts of the pattern. I have done this with Burda patterns to go up or down 1 or 2 sizes and it’s always worked for me, but I have not tried with Simplicity.

Thank you for your reply,
I have noticed that there is about 1/2 inch difference between XS and S, while about an inch difference between M to L or L to XL.
