Hello, is there a place on the forums where people post photos of existing garments and ask for help with drafting the pattern for it? These would be photos of garments, as in, I don't have the garment myself, but just a photo of it.

For instance, if it was cut on the bias, the type of neck etc. Also, do you need to be a paid member to post photos? I think I have the basic free membership and I don't see how I can add a photo. Thank you!

There is a forum where people discuss drafting, though as a beginner I don't know how they discuss because I rarely read posts there. But since you are also asking basic questions about membership types and who can post photos etc, the 'New to Patternreview' forum is probably the best place to ask.

I like the sound of that catheriensophia :)
I used to visit a blog that did something like this, a photo of a garment would be posted and 'he/she' would discuss it and then pattern for it and we could go through the whole process (text and photos) and then see the finished clone side by side with the original photo. It was many years ago and I've tried to find it again but without luck. I don't know if the photos were selected by the host or were contributed, but I really did find it very interesting.

I often see members looking for a pattern they can use to make a certain look. Other members find a similar pattern with suggestions to the OP on how to make changes to copy the look exactly. These posts are under "Pattern Modifications, Design Changes & Pattern Drafting". I don't think there is a dedicated place for just pattern drafting, at least that I am aware of.

You have to be a paying member (Friends of PR) to post a photo on the forums from your PC, laptop or phone and you only get one photo per post. If you have your photos on an external hosting site however, you can embed here on the forums from there and as many as you want. I do it all the time from Flickr.

Suggestion: Learn your basic blocks. Observe the silhouette. Learn how grain controls drape. And then you can mostly DIY!
