Links created using the http:// button in the message writing window aren't working.
Please check my message in this thread:
https://sewing.patternreview.com/cgi-bin/sewingclasses/board.pl?t=11653&pn=6
The link to the Burda WOF jeans jacket is done correctly, but when you click on it, extra URL info is added to the link (looking in the lower left corner of the IE window when hovering over the link).

The links are working fine, atleast for me. You just forgot to add http:// in front of your url. Actually the http:// is pre-filled in the text area when you click on the http button, so you must have removed the http when you pasted your url there.
If you read the other posts on that thread, they come up fine. Do you have examples of any other weirdness in links?

I'm having the same problem. When I try to add a link to a picture in my photo album I consistently get an error message. I've discovered that extra code is added at the beginning (I also find this is true when I am trying to post clickable links within a review). For the reviews I removed the extraneous code and finally got the pictures to post correctly. I am unable to get the http:// key within messages to work no matter what I do.
I'm fairly new at this so maybe it is operator error. I am following the instructions on the screen: "To insert a Clickable link to your photo, copy and paste the following html". If I paste that into the clickable link window I get extra code at the beginning even if I delete the http:// that is already there. Help.

Thank you Deepika, and apologies for the wild goose chase. If I see something weird like this come up again, I'll let you know. I thought that I had looked at that link but I obviously missed the part where I missed the part.

Hi Deepika:
I fixed all of the extra text in my reviews by deleting it. I'm really having trouble posting a link in a message. I'll try it here and see what I get:
(I went to my photo album and clicked on "get html" associated with the picture I want. Then I copied the link that is printed at the top of the page. Now I'm hitting the http:// key at the top of this message window. . . )
Gown
I pasted the link from my photo album in the first window and assigned the name Gown in the second window. Let's see if this worked. . . .
Now when I click on the link that says Gown I get this page:
https://sewing.patternreview.com/notfound.html
I tried this over and over last night so it must be something I'm doing. Any suggestions? I can see that there is duplicate code in the above listing (I'm unable to type what the code is as this message sees it as code but the first 8 characters are duplicated). I've even tried removing the first instance of that and that still doesn't work. See below:
I also thought maybe I should delete everything but the website address so I tried that but that just gave me the text of the website.
Awaiting help. . . .
OK, now I'm editing this message because the second link does bring up the picture (though the tag seems to be wrong and it doesn't work in the Preview mode). So there is an extra phrase of code that seems to be messing this up. Is it something I am doing?

Julie,
I'm testing your link too. Hold on.
Julie's link
Edited: Seems to work as it should for me. So, I'm not sure what's happening for you.
Are you making sure to *not* include the http:// that is already in the pop-up box?
(Boy, the server is very slow this morning.)

Hi Debbie:
Thanks for your help. Yep, I delete the http:// from the window and paste in what I copied from my photo album. When it shows up in the body of the message an extra 8 characters have been added at the beginning of the string (it reads:
*a href=' where the * is really a < then repeats those characters and after the second = the http:// starts).
If I delete those first 8 characters I have to go in and manually change the tag so it reads correctly. This was happening with my reviews last night, too.
I can't imagine that this has anything to do with operating Firefox but I'm always suspicious when something wonky happens so I'll try it in IE and see if it's any better (though I would have thought this might have been reported by others before now).
