I make a lot of rugs, some of them really large. I know there is a gadget out there that allows you to look at something close up and make it look far away. Am I making myself clear?

In other words, while I'm working on this big rug in my lap, instead of having to get up and lay it on the floor to see how the colors of a flower or a shape is working, I could just look through this and see a big section of the rug and how it will look from a distance.

I've seen someone using it at rug camps, but I've not been able to find one in the art supply stores. I don't even know what it is called.

Try Keepsake Quilting. THey're called reducing glasses. However, I just look through a camera lens.

Can't you just flip the magnifing glass around? Or is my high school physics escaping me?

This is a great idea, btw!

Quilters use reducing glasses. If you have a local quilting store, try looking there.

This quilter uses a camera lens to make my quilt tops look far away. Saves my $ for fabric.
