I am in the process of making a notched lapel jacket that has a collar that is part of the bodice and neckline ( not separate collar pieces). The collar has a CB seamline, and the dart is to follow the neckline. I have only made jackets with separate collar pieces, so not sure about this fitting dart. I am also a bit confused with the roll line in relation to where the dart ends. The collar hugs my neck beautifully, but only because I've fiddled with this for what seems like forever. Is there a magic formula for where this dart is to sit? I might add that I am drafting my own pattern, not following a commercial one.

I've seen this on a commercial pattern. My memory is that the dart also creates the beginning of the roll line and it wasn't very long. The roll line followed on along the same line.
I'd be a bit dubious about this dart also being used to create space for the bust.
