This sounds like a really good deal. I'd love to see a review in Sewing Supplies. The measuring implements (hip curve, etc.) are all aluminum, which sounds fine to me, but of course I haven't a clue.

I'm also posting a 'Review Request' for this -- just wanted to cover my bases.

I got it last year. I think it was a good deal. It was less $$ than buying all of them individually. I really haven't used that many of them, but they do come in handy from time to time. I bought it because I was really into learning to pattern draft. Since then though I have lost some of that interest and replaced it with other things (embroidery being one!). One of these days though I am going to get back to it.
Can someone add more hours to the day? That would help!
ETA: I didn't think of reviewing it since I have not done much with it. It comes with a mini book on pattern drafting. I did not like it because it was confusing. Much better to get one of the books reviewed here. i have both the Rene' Bergh book and the Armstrong book. Both are good.

I don't have the carryall, but I have an aluminum hip curve that I love! I like to use it for hips more than the fashion rule.

I have the Vary Form hip curve and the L-square. These will last forever. Mine are over 30 years old and still going strong. If you plan to use these, they will be well worth the investment. My only problem is keeping my husband from borrowing the L-square and not returning it.

Re: does anyone have the Fashion Designers Carryall from sewtrue.com? (posted on 2/22/06 3:54 PM ET)
I think it's a great deal. Many moons ago when I took a patternmaking class I bought a set from the same company that made these (Fairgate?) and it had less rulers, no measuring tape and no compass, no awl for $80. So if you're interested, get it. I'm sure you'll use it.

I'd rather be sewing.
