I have an opportunity to get a Baby Lock Esante tonight for 200. It sounds like a really good deal looking at the machine and knowing how much baby locks are generally, but I know nothing about this machine specifically. I do know that a good embroidery machine is the only thing missing from my nearly perfect set up, so it would be cool if it happend for $200, but if it's not worth it, that's good to know too haha. It has all the hoops and accessories, honestly one of the biggest boxes of extras i've ever seen with a machine. That in itself makes it almost worth $200 to me, but if it's a shitty machine, great accessories won't count for much lol. I see a bunch of reviews for the Esante 2, but not so much this old chap. Anyone know?

I have a couple sitting unused. They were good machines but impossible to get fixed. One of mine no longer makes buttonholes, the motor that makes that part work has failed and can't be replaced. The real problem with them is they take a small card to transfer designs from a computer so you need the cards and a card reader. I'm not sure any of the Esante's had USB access. I don't believe so anyway. I have been able to find ways to use the card reader with past computers, but my current computer really hates the cables that it needs, so I have given up trying to use the system. 25 year old computers are not a good deal.

meant to add if the machine works well and comes with a bunch of the design cards that were made for it, the embroidery Esante produces is quite good. The cards usually have a bunch of designs that are related, like animals or cooking etc. They are fine, it just isn't possible to get designs on line and get them on to the card for input to the machine without a computer that will work with a palette card reader. Did that help, or just add to the confusion?

no, that's definitely helpful, thank you! Now I'm just wondering if I'll be able to sell it for more than $200 haha. It seems like such a good deal for so much machine and so many accessories, but who knows. I don't want to trick someone into buying something they won't get any use out of. I also don't want to be tricked into that myself lol, so thanks for all the info!
