The author seems to think one would like to use it on oneself. Maybe to keep from purching on-line fabric?

Might be good for people trying to quit smoking.

You know . . . sometimes it's easier to get forgiveness than permission. Buy the fabric!

Looks like a good niche market for someone who wants a sewing business.

Buy the best and you only cry once.

I confess that I have thought of a few people who might need one, heheh.
I'm glad Sherril, that you weren't posting about the jacket you are working on right now. I was afraid that something had gone horribly wrong!

Georgene, I had the same thought: Oh, no...the princess seam jacket didn't work out...
The straightjacket is not on my list of anticipated projects. In fact, I think I'm far too young and innocent to read things like "several hours of enthusiastic struggling". However, it is reassuring to know that on the internet you can learn how to construct things other than bombs.
BTW - what the he#$ did you google to find that site?

Where are we going, and what am I doing in this handbasket?
Matthew 25:40 (New International Version)
The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'

Karla and Georgene, you two crack me up! LOL. I haven't cut my pattern out yet so no, it isn't my jacket. I googled jacket construction, or sewing unstructured jacket or some such thing.

They left out an item under "Difficulties and problems (challenges)?"
Finding someone to model it.
Claire - who after today at work needs one for someone - oh, no, I guess that person really needs a muzzle. =)

~~~ I have no idea how many yards of fabric I've bought this year - I don't want to know. I just want to see my closet fill up with finished clothes I like and can wear. ~~~
Well, that's just plain weird. Either the writer is serious but nuts, or this is a bondage item (suggested fabric choice: silk???).
Ever wonder why the word is spelled straitjacket? Strait is an old word, coming from Latin strictus, and means narrow, confined, pressed tightly, etc. So Matthew says, "Strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life..."
I once saw a man using a straitjacket in street theatre in San Francisco. He got somebody to strap him into it, then flung himself down on the cablecar turntable and writhed around until he escaped from the strait jacket. He did this while the next cablecar advanced down the tracks towards him. The dramatic tension! All he needed was some Hollywood background music!
Then he went around holding out his hat and saying "Help the escape man go to college."
I put $10 in his hat. Great art should be encouraged :-)
It's a custom-made designer original. I made it myself.
Eeew, there is a design consideration for 'waterproof'. Don't even want to go there!
