Every year I try and find plain ol' cotton sheeting for shorts and capris. I know of one RTW brand "Erika" that uses it. I can't seem to find any in the store or Ebay. I want dark colors so my be-hind doesn't look SO big. Like black, navy, brown or dark green/olive. Does anyone know where to find this stuff? I have tried to use Kona cotton but it seems just a little stiff or something. Plus it seems to collect lint and hair...ewww
So does anyone know where to get something I can use for capris, shorts and maybe some matching tops I can add embroidery to?

My Hancocks ad mentioned sheeting being on sale. Maybe you can get some there.

I saw some on www.fahionfabricsclub.comyesterday, but I don't think that they had too many solid colors.

Does it go by another name because if you Google it you get mostly sheets.

I also like sheeting for summer pants, shorts, etc. Years ago, it was readily available at places like Hancocks, but I haven't seen it in any store for years. I did manage to score some fuschia and white from fabricclub a few years back though - at a really good price.

The sheeting from fashionfabricsclub looks nice. I purchased the green sheeting (H335) from them a while back. When it arrived, it was clear to me that it had lycra or spandex in it. I don't know if they inadvertently sent the wrong fabric or just failed to mention that it's a stretch fabric, but I was sure surprised. Anyway, I'm still going to use it. You might want to request swatches to make sure you're getting the weight and fiber content you want.

I was browsing eBay this morning and foudn this seller trendyfabrics who had a selection of sheeting in their shops. I have not bought from them so I cannot speak to the quality, but there is a nice selection of fabrics ...

In reply to Mrs.Moos
Warehouse Fabrics, Inc. has cotton/poly sheeting 90" wide @ $3.98/yd. If the fabric's any good, that's a spectacular bargain.

I have never ordered from them (yet), only browsed their website.

As metnioned above, Hancock's sometimes has it but usually in pastels. Could you dye it? (I hate trying to dye things, it's just way too messy for me to deal with, but if you're better at doing that kind of thing...)

ETA: Kona cotton is pretty heavy (and does collect lint because of the texture). If I think of something else similar I'll post it up.

Dharma Trading has three types of cotton sheeting but they're all white or natural. Back to the dying thing, unfortunately.
