I saw some polyester koshibo on a fabric web site. It has a print I really liked and said it was good for blouses or skirts (and dresses I assume). Is it breathable? Is it textured? All I could see was the print design. Is it durable? Easy to sew? Wash well?

It's not breathable since it's poly. I've used it a lot for skirts, but it would work for blouses or dresses. Weight-wise it's similar to peachskin but it has a texture instead of being smooth. Kind of hard to describe exactly, but somewhat of a crepe texture. I think it originated in Japan. My Dad's assistant of many years was from there and gave us kids little gifts (wallets, boxes, etc.) covered with this fabric.

HSN carries the Maggie Sweet line of clothing that uses what they call Kashibo crepe. It's 100% polyester. You could go there and see what those garments look like made up.

Basic poly wovens for ladies wear steps up as follows:

Thanks! I couldn't tell what the weight or texture was when I saw it on web sites. Some very pretty prints, but it was hard to know if I could use it and how much to buy since I didn't know what it would be good for.
So, maybe I'll get some for a swirly skirt?

It is beautiful fabric for a drapey skirt. Some of my favourite skirts are made from this. It is textured and very fluid and swishes and swirls beautifully. I rarely see it nowadays and stocked up on some I discovered on our fabric shopping day during PR Weekend Down Under.

A couple of my favorite summer shirts are made from this fabric. It's a little pebbly, as others have said, and very drapey. I find it also surprisingly cool in hot weather, though the fact that the shirt pattern is loosely fitted probably helps.

I asked this because I was wanting to buy some I saw online as part of a big order of fabric I don't need after my recent purchases. But, then my girlfriend called and said she's going to Hawaii to use her Hilton time share and if I can come up with $250 in plane fare and some change for half the groceries for a week, I can come too. My son brought me his change jar and said I could use some of his savings so I'd get a vacation. I'm thinking this is the thing that might keep me from buying more fabric right now, as much as I want that piece! But, after I get back, the following month...

Lee Anne,
I just bought some of the blue koshibo print from you, and it seems very sheer, see-through. Now I'm looking for how to make it useable. Any thoughts?
