I bought a swimsuit pattern and it calls for 2 way stretch lycra. Do you think I could use 4 way stretch or would it stretch out too much? It's hard to find 2 way stretch locally; I'll probably have to buy it online if I go with a 2 way.

Two way stretch is a confusing name. Sometimes two-way stretch means that the fabric stretches two ways--lenthwise and crossgrain. This is also referred to as four way since it stretches from left to right and up to down. Go ahead and use the four way stretch. You won't have any problems. In fact, if the fabric didn't stretch four ways, it won't fit correctly and will be uncomfortable to say the least.

Thanks, Sherrill! That really explains a lot and it makes sense to me. I think I'll go ahead and buy the fabric I saw on ebay that dd wants.
