I found some great discounted home dec fabric the other day and it told me that it wanted to be some kind of a tote or other bag. Thus far it hasn't clarified the issue, and I just realized this a.m. that it would be a great project to make for DBF's mother's birthday (coming up in September).
She's fairly casual, early 70s, with a not too old-ladyish sense of style. And like all of us, she likes to carry her life around in her bag.
Any suggestions what pattern I should use to make this? I've looked at all the Amy Butler patterns, but they're talking to me and I want something that will talk to her.

There's always room for one more cat, one more book or one more yard of fabric.
