I was looking @spandex house on the internet and saw some fabrics that were advertised as "one way stretch". How is this different than two way stretch?

The descriptions of stretch are confusing to say the least.
Some companies call fabric that stretches cross grain one way stretch, others call the same thing 2 way stretch, as it stretches from left to right.
The fabric which stretches up and down as well as left to right is either called 4way stretch, or 2 way.
Clear as mud?
Also pattern companies may use different terms, but they will be consistent within their patterns.
Kwiksew uses 2-way to describe fabric that stretches up and down and side to side.
In the case of the fabric you are looking at, give them a call or check if they have a glossary on thier site with clear descriptions.
