I have seen some absolutely darling jeans on ebay and would love to recreate something similar for my daughters but am unsure how to accomplish it. The appliques themsleves I know that I can create but am unsure as to how to get them on the pants legs. Do I need to open up the seems of the jeans or what?

Yes, opening the non felled seam is the easiest way.

Wow. I just looked at the ending bid for those jeans. They're cute... but imagine how much fabric you could buy for $120!

Good luck with your appliqués! Thanks for bringing this up. DD likes decorated jeans, and this would be far easier than decorating by hand (and thanks to Debbie for pointing in the right direction).

Where did all this fabric come from? I CAN'T have bought THAT much!

I just looked at the auction photos ... very cute, but hmmm ... I bet the Peanuts people wouldn't be too happy with this.

I know can you believe the price they brought? there was also a matching jacket that went for $245. I was dumbfounded. I mean they are cute but there is NO WAY I would even spend a fraction of that. The same seller has made some really cute twirly skirt sets (ls tshirt with fur on cuffs of sleeves and twirly skirt) that have sold for over $250. Her ideas are cute and clever and have motivated me to try some for my girls.
