i have a ? will a old bed sheet doas well as a muslin as for getting the fit right im going to try and make a jacket thank you

Sure - as long as it is close to the kind of fabric you will be using for the finished product. A muslin does not necessarily mean "made out of muslin."

Absolutely. Bed sheets will do fine. Keep in mind, though, if you haven't done this before, that a muslin for a jacket made with muslin-weight fabric will fit a bit differently than the fabric you make the fiished jacket with. The turn of cloth at the seams on the heavier fabric takes up more fabric, so the actual jacket will probably be a bit tighter than your muslin.
