Advice needed.
would you use this fabric
http://www.fabric.com/apparel-fashion-fabric-stretch-fabric-lycra-fabric-stretch-modal-rayon-jersey-knits-modal-rayon-jersey-knit-cream.aspx
to make this top

I have never sewn a knit before so I'm not sure if it will work or be suitable.

It looks to me as if it should work. The jersey should drape nicely, which you need, and be stretchy enough. What fabrics does Burda recommend?

it suggested
velour or jersey
2 way stretch knits would be most ideal

That fabric should work fine, but since it's 50% cotton it will shrink. Be sure to prewash it twice if you decide to use it.
