The following fitting model is basically a duct tape dummy but cuter. The ideas could be adapted.

Kind of a shame to use all those vintage pattern envelopes, but very cute result.

I like the idea of using an old floor lamp as the base. Attractive, resourceful way to recycle.

So as not to waste vintage patterns, one could use fashion pictures from magazines, gift wrap to coordinate with one's decor or just that you like or whatever. This doesn't produce a pinnable model though.

If you like the look of vintage patterns, then you could make color copies of the patterns and envelopes to decoupage. That way you wouldn't ruin the origianal.

It took a long time to come up on my computer, so maybe you did not wait long enough.

Where did I put that old useless lampatand when I was purging. I wonder if it is still in the garage???

Yeah, I liked the lampstand part too. Every time I saw homemade fitting models, I would think, "I don't want to make the wooden stand myself, and I don't have a husband handy to do it, and I don't want to pay for it..." I have a lamp I actually picked up from someone's curb on trash day as I took my son to school. Pretty wrapping paper or comics could also be used. Or, cut out styles you like from fashion magazines and use those.

Beautiful paper napkins in different floral or geometric prints can also be used. They would simulate fabric, without actually using fabric.
